we watch diamond-elves
dancing quite dementedly---
moonlight on the lake;
we hear singing come
from way across the water
to our waiting ears,
bouncing o’er the waves;
lakeside neighbours’ voices raised
happily in song;
to their soft refrains,
we add our joyful voices---
harmonic heaven.
when family sits
around the smoky campfire,
love is abounding;
dancing ‘neath the stars,
held close in each others’ arms,
warmly wrapped in peace,
‘til later, asleep,
intertwined, we bind our souls
with each breath we take.
these night songs we sing
with exuberance and joy
are our songs of love.

So expressive and puts you right there in just a few words. Well done. I also have wonderful memories of family campfire singalongs.

Each stanza is a stand alone song of the night. Beautifully poetic. “Dancing quite dementedly” nothing screams of joy better 5han that!

Thank you! As you might have guessed, this stemmed from many campfire singalongs over the years.
