Rolling Stones Wow Moment

Lori and Stephen arrived in London, England on May 20, 2018, at Heathrow International Airport. We proceeded to take the London Underground, which is a train service to Leman Street Station in east London.

We then walked about 1000 feet to our hotel called Leman Locke at 15 Leman Street. The hotel gave us a room on the 4th floor. Since we got there late in the afternoon, we pretty much chilled out to get a great start in the morning.

The next day we started out eating breakfast at the Deli Cat & Sons. We both ordered coffee, fruit, and scrambled eggs. The restaurant is on the bottom floor of the hotel. After breakfast we headed to downtown London via the underground. There we hopped on a double-decker bus.

On the bus we explored the city and saw the Thames River, Buckingham palace, Westminster Abbey, House of Parliament, and the Big Ben Clock which is located off Westminster Bridge.

When the bus tour was completed, we took the underground back to Leman Station. There we found the Amber restaurant close to our hotel. We both ordered the grilled chicken with preserved lemons and herbs marinade.

At the completion of dinner, we met a close friend at the Tell Bells Pub in East London, which is 400 years old, for a pint of beer. Our conversation was about family, friends and what we were doing in our lives. After a couple of hours, we all retired for the evening.

On the day of the Rolling Stones Concert at London Stadium on the 22nd we started out with breakfast at Deli Cat and Sons to start out the day.

Our next adventure took us on the underground so we could walk around the Thames River along Westminster bridge. By the late afternoon we took uber to the London Stadium to see the Rolling Stones, how exciting!

Upon getting through security, we went to our seats in the middle of the stadium and on the second level. Before the concert we met fans from Poland, Germany, Great Brittan and even Australia. The fans as well as us were all excited to see Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones.

The Rolling Stones excited their fans for 2 hours playing “I can’t get no Satisfaction”, “Get off of my Cloud”, and “Paint it Black” to name a few songs. We were all singing and dancing in our seats.

The elder statesmen of the Rolling Stones gave us fans a show to remember. Wow, what a great experience listening to the Rolling Stones in their hometown of London!

Having visited some of those same London sites (but not a Rolling Stones concert), I enjoyed your itinerary very much.
