The Cellphone

Four in the morning.

The young woman’s cellphone on the bedside table shuddered awake.

Stealthily.

Ethereal light suffused the darkness, so faintly that Melanie did not waken.  Lifted by an unseen hand, the phone silently captured her unsuspecting picture.

Back on the table, the phone snuffed its glow.

Darkness again.

Very good. Poetic, Mysterious and elicits wonder at the same time. Funny how few words sometimes tells a tale a larger story sometimes doesn’t.
