Woman Wielding Gun Pleads
Guilty in Road Rage Case
(exclusive to the Fort Myers Tattler)
Fort Myers – 3 March 2022 – A local woman from Holismokealee pleaded guilty in criminal court today to charges arising from a road rage incident one week ago.
Immediately after entering her plea, Jane Calamatee, 54, seized a gun from Bailiff Hap Leslie, 32, who was standing…well, haplessly beside her. As she began wielding the gun wildly, the obviously-distressed woman yelled that she would accept no punishment from a lady judge in a court of Mammon.
As Bailiff Leslie dove for the floor, Judge Anne E. O’Clee calmly drew a handgun from a drawer behind her bench and shot the woman through the heart.
After ordering the deceased defendant removed from the courtroom, the Judge declared loudly, “Mammon-schmammon! Case closed! Call the next case.”
Bailiff Leslie, who had soiled himself, excused himself to use the men’s room.
