The Beam of Light

<melancholy guitar diminuendo>

The beam of light that through the window breaks reminds me, dear, of you,
And all the love that we once shared, the happy times we knew,
I know how lonesome lonely feels, alone since you are gone,
I guess I’ll be without you, dear, and lonely from now on.

The beam of light that through the window breaks brings another lonesome day,
Like all the other days I’ve known since you up and walked away,
I wish that you’d come back to me, that I could still have you,
But I know how bad I hurt you, dear, and I know that we are through.

<chorus>
Oh, how I want you back again so we could start anew,
To live out all the happiness and love that we once knew,
I’d give up everything I have to have you in my arms,
To wrap myself in your sweet love and all your loving charms.

The beam of light that through the window breaks drags me from my lonely bed,
And I struggle with the memories all tumbling through my head,
How we laughed and loved through all those years when our love was young and true,
And how I ruined all we had when I proved untrue to you.

<chorus>

The beam of light that through the window breaks reminds me, dear, of you,
And all the love that we once shared, the happy times we knew…..

<melancholy guitar softly weeps>

  1. Great Country and western theme.
    Love “I know how lonesome lonely feels, alone since you are gone”

    I second that! Plays as both a heartbreaking country song, as well as a seventies lamenting acoustic one. Very good!
