THE SUCCESSFUL FIRST MISSION OF A NEW COURIER

Naked lies the birthing of the child
Please to meet you, can you guess my name
A place beyond the crib I’ll advocate
Faux reasoning will will convince and act as bait
To define the essence and narrative through the gate
Naked lies the birthing of the child

Naked lies the courier as a child
With blazing eyes of fire and white hair
He beats his oar at those that linger on
Travels through nine circles until dawn
Repeat the lie what is right is wrong
Naked lies the courier as a child

Naked lies the stripling in command
Dominates the obtuse teenage crowd
They follow him will zeal and platitudes
Decomposing fish and blood soaked tots as food
Serves a putrid communion lewd, hairless and nude
Naked lies the stripling in command

Naked lies the journey of a neoteny
Navigates to where the sun is silent
Walks with faces on backward unable to see ahead
Here’s the cries, laughs at anguish of long dead
With tormented juveniles he is gorged and fed
Naked lies the journey of a neoteny

Naked lies the manhood of the child
A postured nescient homo unopposed
Homily and prayers that brings it down
Finally see the sunset on Jerusalem's crown
Paddle midnight on the Ganga River brown
Naked lies the manhood of the child

Naked lies the Young Turk now in charge
Leads the masses with thralldom charm
Molting storms of darkness spreading over everyone
Keeps order in the crowd with lyrics as a gun
Dominates and reigns over the burning sun
Naked lies the Young Turk now in charge

Naked lies the master as the child
Temped all to follow his dark cloud
Whispered kingdom riches in their head
Now offers pleading souls’ crumbs of bread
The Mothers surrenders earthborn to the dead
Naked lies the master as the child

Naked lies Beelzebub the child
First mission as a serpentine charmer went well
Persuades first bite beneath the apple tree
The courier of pain and death you cannot flee
Bring all mankind and heaven to its knees
Naked lies Beelzebub the child

  1. You establish (in a snaky way) the identity of the protagonist in the second line “Please to meet you, can you guess my name.” It had me humming “Sympathy for the Devil” throughout, though I wasn’t thinking that the protagonist was indeed The Snake. Great technique and imagery.

I like the rhythm. You keep teaching me new words…like neoteny! Favorite line—walks with faces on backwards unable to see ahead!

That last stanza hit hard……well done. I like the repeated pattern of each stanza, and the rhyme scheme. Not the usual message of Easter.

In keeping with the Easter season.
