WHAT WORDS CAN WE NOW US IN SCRABBLE

Settled into a game of Scrabble
a pile of letters, endless babble
making word and then unravel
many points the game will travel

I take the letters from my tray
Place on the board a smart array
Then told by the gamester not today
That words been cancelled by the woke foray

I exclaim with awe, who changed the rules
Is there now a grammar school
To help us with our daily tool
Avoid the dirge and pronounce the jewel

They haven’t set the rules in writing
Just like Mao’s cultural fighting
and Robespierre’s faux-enlightening
Here’s the words that now are frightening
Jesus Christ, for thirty points get over it.

Not setting the rules in writing might be the problem…we seem to have some written and some unwritten. Perhaps the next generation can figure it all out…?

I’ve always appreciate rules, it gives me “order in the universe.” But I’ve also lived by the motto “I don’t make the rules, I just make them work for me.”

Mao, Robespierre, and Jesus Christ, too! Quite the trifecta!
