THE WALK

Keeping with the prompt CHST, I bought a vowel, added an I went with what I saw a obvious. Taking it right up to the edge of politics and religion (without crossing over). I linked in the video on the group email, since you can’t embed a video on the blog unless you purchase a premium account (damn capitalist) Here are the lyrics to the video, a cry for help, a search for redemption.

Back story to the song, I recorded two version of THE WALK, a Pop and a upbeat christian version. Daryle Ingram nephew of Luther Ingram of “If Loving You is Wrong I Don’t Want to be Right” fame heard it and recorded this third Gospel version.

Once when you smiled at me
I completely ignored your plea
I thought that history would be on my side

Now that the years have passed
Shattered my rose tainted glass
I find myself at last in need of your grace

** Won’t you Let me walk with you again
Extend those blood stain hands and than
I can feel the warmth of you
flowing through my soul like new
won’t you let me be your friend again

Take all you can see
Restore my serenity
Forgive my blasphemy and the time I made you cry

I’ll build a life anew
Based on a love form you
My penance are never through it’s the least I can do

** Won’t you Let me walk with you again
Extend those blood stain hands and than
I can feel the warmth of you
flowing through my soul like new
won’t you let me be your friend again

Somber, sober and proper words to live by. Excellent!

The song was haunting and peaceful, both. We all need someone or something to lean on during hard times…..to excerpt another fine song, “…’tis faith that will lead me home.”

I’ll be glad to walk with you, but keep a six-foot distance! Super as usual!
