TWAS THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS

Twas the day after Christmas...and all through the house
Elves were happy...but not Ms Clause
For thirty years no present for her
Now was the time... receive what was earned

She tried to conceal... disappointment with grace
But could not disguise ... the look on her face
Another year without…even a card
While St Nick...continued to the star

But Santa Clause wasn’t...through with his ride
One more present...for his longtime bride
the ornery look she saw in his eyes
told Ms Clause there was more in disguise

He then ask her...please follow me
She wonder out loud “what could this be”
There on the floor next to the tree
the biggest wrapped box she’d ever seen

He had the elves unwrap the box..
with her hands ... over her eyes were crossed
The elves then set it up… for her to see..
The Christmas gift beside the tree

At first she lite up with clamor and glee
shouted out loud “a gift for me”
she opened her eyes and next to the tree
a gift beyond her wildness dreams

sadness than fill her deep brown eyes
She could not decide…to laugh or cry
So she just stood there …held it inside
Did not react...this Longtime bride

Now hear me men... when picking a gift
Jewry and cloths are a better fit
If there’s a tale and lesson learned
keep yourself from getting burned
Keep yourself from being wrong
Don’t buy your wife a Peloton
