What to Believe

You probably won’t believe what I’m about to tell you, and I can’t say that I blame you for being skeptical. Really, with all this disinformation floating around the web it’s hard to know what’s real. For example, did you know Elvis is alive and living in a trailer park outside of Vegas? How about all those pictures of Bigfoot? If it’s on the internet it must be true, right?

Our elected officials and corporate officers will assert a statement is true one day only to stand behind the very same podium the next day and proclaim the exact opposite is true. When questioned, they use the stock reply, “I misspoke.” Remember when that was called lying?

It’s hard for a person like me, who wants to believe what people say, not to be cynical. Think about all the conspiracy theories there are: The moon landing was faked; the CIA killed JFK; the Clinton’s ran a human trafficking ring from a DC pizza shop; aliens are running the White House (that one might be true!)  Yes, the truth no longer is black and white, but multiple shades of grey.

The more I think about it, let’s just forget this whole conversation. You’re probably not going to believe me anyway.
