Frowning and thinking quite hard was he

Eying the cards, how hard could it be?

Boxes of chocolates lining the shelves

Red hearts and flowers flaunting themselves.

Under duress he studied them all

Anxious to please, not to appall

Reckoned that one of each would suffice

Yearning for love –  at any price!
