Stardust

“We are all made from stardust: Every element, rock, animal, plant, fungus, bacterium, virus, and us. Everything.

Stardust is born from the explosion of stars that run out of fuel. The sun dies, shooting seeds of life across the universe.

It is part of the cycle of birth, death, decay, and rebirth that is built in to everything in the universe.

We are masters of nothing. Everything ages with time, books fade, sculptures chip and break; ideas and us just become old.

Foolish us! We, like our grand thoughts, ego, riches, accomplishments, awards, and creations will soon fade away from existence and memory.

All we have is today. A chance to feel part of the whole.

A chance to better our world and living things in some small way.

A chance for our progeny to bring life to other planets and help ensure survival of our people, the custodians of all life on earth.

Stand in awe of the miracle of today!”

A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”― Albert Einstein
